ACM@UCO welcomes its Chief Operating Officer, Susan Wortham, educator, businesswoman, and music supporter.

Susan Wortham came to the University of Central Oklahoma in January 2005 as Director of Purchasing and Payment Services, after many years working in the manufacturing sector specializing in logistics and administration. Susan’s focus in recent years was in operational management of plant acquisitions, consolidations, and start-ups.

Susan moved into the position of Assistant Vice President of Undergraduate Admissions in December of 2006 with a focus on melding the undergraduate admissions and recruiting functions for the university.  After being asked to assist with the ACM@UCO launch in September 2008, Susan officially joined Scott Booker and Derek Brown in December of 2008 as the ACM@UCO Chief Operating Officer.

As a teenager and young adult, Susan explored briefly her abilities as a musician, but  quickly discovered that her talents lie in the appreciation rather than performance of music.  Thanks to her mother and brother, she developed a love for music early on.  Through their introduction of such iconic acts as Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder, the Rolling Stones, and the Clash, Susan has been lifelong music fan and supporter. 

When asked why she thinks the ACM@UCO is important, she states “We all want the same thing, to wake up every day and make a living doing what we love.  This is our opportunity to help these students accomplish that.  Until now, there really hasn’t been an option for them to get there, we want to change that.”
