ACM@UCO operates with a focus on personal interaction in a small classroom setting in order to encourage student creativity and innovation at their highest levels. ACM@UCO offers Associates of Applied Science (A.A.S) degrees in five programs of study:
Performance Studies
The
A.A.S in Contemporary Music - Performance programs are designed specifically to provide
students with an intensive, yet practical, industry-related education
designed to prepare them for a realistic career in the music business.
Students receive training in band skills, songwriting, aural skills, stage
presentation, business and music industry studies, improvisation, and music
production. That training, coupled with music-based projects and
extensive rehearsal and gig organization provides them with a detailed and
professional understanding of the music industry from concert to contract.

Music Production
The A.A.S. in Contemporary Music - Production program is designed specifically to provide students with an intensive yet practical, industry-related education designed to prepare student for a realistic career in the music business. Students receive training in keyboard skills, music culture, composition, studio techniques, pre- and post production, business and music industry studies, sequencing and digital audio techniques. That training, coupled with music based projects and extensive recording and professional presentation development provides them with a detailed and professional understanding of the music industry from composition to contract.

Music Production/Business
The A.A.S. in Contemporary Music - Production/Business is designed to provide students with a detailed, practical education focused on contemporary music business. Through realisticand pertinent coursework, students will gain a functional and practical understanding of the contemporary music industry. Students receive instruction in artist development, artist management, music merchandising and retail operations, concert and tour management, music marketing, finance/accounting, and public relations. That training, coupled with music business based projects, internships and professional presentation development provides them with a detailed and professional understanding of the music industry that is based on real world experience.
